VIII. Aluminum Panel Installation — Common Sealant Joint Issues
Phenomena: Insufficient glue injection, glue cracking, exposed foam rods in metal panel joints; cracking from inferior weather-resistant sealant, poor compatibility with metal, unclean gluing areas, excessive joint depth causing three-sided bonding; uneven extrusion, incorrect glue gun angle and discontinuous scraping during application.
Preventive/Solution Measures: Weather-resistant sealant must pass re-test and compatibility test before use. Clean gluing areas thoroughly beforehand. Select sealant based on panel material and joint design; joint width ≥6mm, bonding thickness ≥6mm. Fill joint bottom with cushioning materials to avoid three-sided bonding.

Phenomena: 1. Poor flatness of aluminum panel facade.
Preventive/Solution Measures: Limit facade division size (general aluminum veneer: 1.2m×2.4m). For larger panels, add flatness measures (panel thickness ≥2.5mm, recommended 3mm; adopt ≥3003-H24 aluminum alloy, avoid 1-series for external walls; coating thickness meets design requirements). Corner codes with long waist holes (for temperature deformation), quantity/spacing determined by structural calculation, with insulating gaskets. Avoid large continuous aluminum curtain walls; use facade decorative lines for zoning at the scheme stage. Panel glossiness ≤25; avoid same-color sealant for joints. Consider floodlighting’s amplification effect on unevenness (e.g., wall washers).
