The Dalian International Conference Center, located in Dalian's Donggang Business District (a "Diamond Harbor" and CBD core area), is a landmark architectural marvel designed by Austria's Coop Himmelb(l)au (Deconstructivist pioneers known for projects like BMW World) in collaboration with Dalian Municipal Architectural Design Institute. Resembling a "shell" floating above the sea, its undulating steel structure features a dual-façade system with perforated aluminum panels for the exterior and glass curtain walls for the interior, enabling natural light diffusion and energy efficiency.
