They are widely applied in architectural spaces such as railway stations, subway stations, airports, shopping malls, hotels, hospitals, schools, conference halls and gymnasiums. With the deepening of the green and environmental protection concept and the demand for personalized architectural decoration in the era, aluminum single panel brands including Fangda, Jianhan, Yinba, Southeast Jomoo and Simon have become one of the most widely used new architectural decoration materials in construction projects.

Aluminum single panel curtain walls feature a unique texture, rich and long-lasting color, and diverse customizable appearance shapes. 1.1 Specifications


An aluminum single panel curtain wall is a curtain wall made of aluminum panels, whose structure mainly consists of face sheets, stiffeners, hanging lugs and other components; thermal insulation mineral wool can also be added to the back of the face sheets for extra insulation.

  • Common thicknesses: 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm, 3.0mm (costs increase for panels thinner or thicker than this range)
  • Curtain wall-specific thicknesses: 2.0mm, 2.5mm, 3.0mm (4.0mm and 5.0mm panels are also available on the market)

Key material notes:
  • Metal composite panels: Made of two or more materials (e.g., aluminum-plastic composite panels), combining metal rigidity and plastic processability by bonding aluminum sheets with plastic core layers tightly.
  • Metal sandwich panel curtain walls: Equipped with metal face sheets and functional core materials (insulation, fireproof, etc.), ensuring structural strength while delivering excellent heat insulation and flame retardant performance.

2. Surface Treatment Technologies for Aluminum Panels


Two mainstream surface treatment technologies are widely used for aluminum panel curtain walls, each with unique characteristics to meet different performance and decorative requirements:

2.1 Anodizing


  • Oxide film thickness: Usually above 12μ
  • Color characteristics: Limited color options (mainly antique bronze and white); slight color unevenness may occur even in the same batch of products
  • Color difference cause: Not a production technology defect, but due to differences in aluminum sheet raw material batches and the difficulty in achieving completely consistent parameters (e.g., electrolytic bath solution concentration, current density) during the oxidation process, leading to minor color variations.


2.2 Electrostatic Spraying


Divided into powder spraying and liquid spraying, with powder spraying being the most commonly used:

  • Powder spraying raw materials: Mainly polyurethane, polyacrylic resin, epoxy resin, etc., mixed with high color retention pigments
  • Color advantages: Can be formulated into dozens of spray powders with different colors, providing a rich range of color options for building exteriors.
