Ieoh Ming Pei (April 26, 1917 — May 16, 2019) was a male Chinese-American civil engineering specialist and architect. Born in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, he traced his ancestral roots to Lanxi, Zhejiang Province, and his original family home to Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. He was a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and served as a design consultant at Pei Partnership Architects prior to his passing.
