Four Methods to Achieve Stone Texture on Aluminum Panels: Transfer Printing, Coating, UV Printing, Roll Coating

Discerning architects and project owners are never satisfied with solid colors—they either pursue wood grain textures or stone veining. As industry practitioners, we spare no effort to replicate the authentic, luxurious beauty of natural stone with utmost fidelity.

🌵 Transfer Printing

This method uses stone-pattern transfer paper which is heat-pressed onto aluminum panels. The prerequisite is to source transfer paper with matching stone veining, or customize bespoke patterns with a professional transfer paper manufacturer.

🌵 Stone-Imitation Coating

Stone-effect coatings include water-in-sand paint and real stone paint, with the former being an upgraded version featuring richer color layers and more realistic aesthetics.

The process involves spraying primer, topcoat and color flecks (the colored particles forming stone textures) in sequence onto polished aluminum panels, followed by a clear sealant spray for protection and gloss enhancement, and final high-temperature baking for color fixation.

🌵 UV Printing

Analogous to color printing, UV digital printing directly applies stone textures to aluminum panels.

Treating aluminum panels as printing substrates, large-format UV printers use color UV inks to print high-definition stone veining directly onto the surface. Manufacturers in northern China typically use narrow-format equipment, while facilities in Foshan are equipped with large-format printers for wider aluminum sheet processing.

🌵 Roll Coating

The most realistic method for replicating natural stone color and texture, aluminum panel roll coating requires custom engraved transfer rollers that apply fluorocarbon paint onto aluminum surfaces with precise stone veining. This process is highly suitable for mass production of stone-textured aluminum panels.

Roll coating delivers the closest finish to natural stone; by contrast, stone-imitation coating creates a slightly uneven, embossed surface texture on aluminum panels.

In the pursuit of aesthetic excellence, the innovation of aluminum panel surface treatment materials and technologies is an endless journey.
