Wuxi Metro Line 1 marks the first metro line to enter operation in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, China. Its main line—running from Yanqiao Station to Changguangxi Station—kicked off trial operations on July 1, 2014, while its southern extension (connecting Changguangxi Station to Nanquan Station) officially opened to the public on September 28, 2019. As of September 2019, Wuxi Metro Line 1 stretches a total of 34.6 kilometers, with 7.25 kilometers above ground and 27.35 kilometers underground, and features 27 stations in total.
Each station’s ceiling also boasts distinct design touches that align with its surroundings. For instance, stations near Taihu Lake feature blue wave patterns on the ceilings, evoking the sensation of being by the lake. Meanwhile, stations close to historic and cultural districts showcase traditional-style ceiling designs that complement the area’s timeless ambiance.
This type of suspended ceiling design—especially when using aluminum baffle ceilings—sets strict standards for a company’s craftsmanship and technical capabilities.
