The aluminum alloy ceiling of Changchun Metro Line 2, designed by Changchun Rail Transit Group, embodies the theme of "Era Pulse," harmonizing industrial aesthetics with urban cultural narratives. Divided into three segments—"Excellence," "Blossoming," and "Soaring"—the design reflects the line’s journey from legacy industrial zones to futuristic hubs.
Custom aluminum honeycomb composite panels and curved metal profiles are precision-assembled via parametric modeling. For instance, Xinglongpu Station adopts a "Modern Era" concept, reinterpreting a handbag's interior structure with a ceiling zippered in concrete, flanked by benches shaped like perfume bottles and clutch purses, blending utility with avant-garde artistry.
Xichengcheng Road Station, themed "Space Odyssey," employs metallic mesh and undulating aluminum panels to evoke spacecraft interiors, mirroring Changchun's legacy as China's "Cradle of Astronauts".
The design integrates industrial textures with ecological elements: aluminum surfaces feature wood-grain and zipper-like embossing, while hidden LED strips create dynamic lightscapes at night.
At Heping Avenue Station, geometric aluminum cutouts reenact rail transit evolution, symbolizing the city’s "resolute progress" ethos.
Utilizing prefabricated assembly techniques, the project enhances efficiency and won the China Urban Rail Transit Association's "Top 10 Most Beautiful Metro Stations" innovation award, setting a benchmark for cultural expression in Northeast China's transit infrastructure.
