Guangzhou Metro Line 18 stands as the 14th urban rail transit line in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China—and a groundbreaking one at that: it is the country’s first fully underground urban express line, operating at a top speed of 160 kilometers per hour. The line’s initial section, running from Wanqingsha Station to Xian Cun Station, officially opened to the public on September 28, 2021.
