    Product Description

    Academician Ma Dayou's paper "Theory and Design of Microperforated Panel Sound-Absorbing Structures", published in *Science China* in 1975, marked an important chapter in the history of China's acoustic technology innovation and initiated the widespread application of microperforated sound absorbers. In 1992, an article titled *A Chinese Engineer Drilled Thousands of Holes in the German Parliament Building* in Germany's *Bild* newspaper started a milestone where China's scientific achievements gained widespread international recognition and became a new research hotspot in fiber-free sound-absorbing materials. For this, Mr. Ma was awarded the ALFA Prize for fiber-free sound-absorbing materials by the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics in Germany in 1997.


    When the diameter of the perforations in common perforated panels is controlled to less than 1mm, a microperforated panel is formed. At this point, the microperforated panel itself "has sufficient acoustic resistance and, at the same time, sufficiently low mass reactance, forming a broadband sound absorber without the need to add any porous materials". With the development and improvement of materials and perforation processing technologies, as well as its sound absorption characteristics of being broadband, efficient, clean and environmentally friendly, microperforated panel sound absorption structures are widely used in wall and ceiling decorations in numerous places.

    Structure and Composition

    Ballesta® High-strength honeycomb metal composite panel feature a sandwich structure composed of three key layers:

    Outer Skins: Two thin sheets of high-grade aluminum alloy (commonly 3003H24 or 5052AH14), which provide surface durability and aesthetic flexibility. These sheets undergo treatments like fluorocarbon coating, PVDF finishing, or anodizing to enhance corrosion resistance and visual appeal.

    Honeycomb Core: A hexagonal aluminum foil core (typically 0.04–0.06mm thick) bonded between the outer layers. The honeycomb design mimics nature’s efficiency, offering maximum strength with minimal material use.

    Adhesive Layer: Advanced adhesives (e.g., thermoplastic films) securely bond the core to the skins, achieving peel strengths of up to 18N/mm for long-term reliability.

    Sound absorption
    With patented technology and special craftsmanship, ultra-micro holes with a diameter of ≤0.2mm are punched on thin metal sheets, without the need to add any porous materials. It has a good absorption effect on sound energy, with the maximum noise reduction coefficient reaching over 0.7, which complies with the Code for Design of Building Sound Insulation (GB50118-2010).
